Ahh, May 1.....Happy Anniversary DH....44 years.....whose counting LOL!!
Also the day we launched the boat into the water at Washburn and brought the boat to dock at Pikes Bay Marina. It was a cloudy day with just a little chop and cool air, at around 50+ degrees. Was an uneventful ride over and easy docking. DH is most excited to get it all set up for fishing and now at 9 pm is anxiously looking for someone to go fishing with in the morning. I do not care to go. 46 degrees is too cold for me now in my older age. I have gone on many opening fishing trips in the past years when I had to don a snowmobile suit and then just about froze to death LOL. How does that saying go? "Been there, done that!" Hopefully his good buddy Pat will go out with him.
We did go into Ashland to the WalMart there (ourselves and Pat & Barb). We all went to a late lunch, dropped the boys off at the Washburn Marina to launch the boat and then came on back to the Pikes Bay Marina to meet the guys and tie up the boat when they arrived.
Was a busy, uneventful week at home this past week. I was very saddened to hear of the passing of my Uncle Fran. The funeral was held in Hastings, NE at St. Cecilia's Church, where I attended Masses as a small child (very little- 3 yrs and under). I would have loved to have attended, but too far a drive to make on my own without having taken my vehicle in for the recall of the steering column. My sister Peg and brother Dave were able to attend, so am anxious to hear the detail. I did hear a LOT of cousins were in attendance. As a youngster (lol) I spent quite a bit of time at my Uncle Fran and Aunt Roses' house playing with our cousins, while we visited our grandparents in the summer. OH we had so much fun. And Uncle Fran ('June' at the time), and Aunt Rose were just wonderful. As I came to learn, he was quite an entrepreneur (opened and owned 3 gas/service stations), very knowledgeable in the stock market, an avid bridge player and very active in his Church. He was always so friendly and kind - his memory will hold a special place in my heart.
I walked with my dear daughter for about 1.62 miles on Monday and have hardly been able to stand and move quickly after sitting, ever since. What the heck?? I will be watching Steve's boys next week, so I hope I recover by then!!
