BUSY DAYS

Well how time flies when your having fun.....THAT is for sure!  Let's go back a week.

Last Wednesday DH went off to the Lake to put the boat in the water and launch for Bayfield and 'Grappler' s dock at the marina.  I stayed back home so I could watch my granddaughter's competition dances, down at the Minneapolis Convention Center.  I had so much fun!!

Wednesday I was busy with my usual routine of chapel and lunchroom duty.  Thursday I waited for a plumber to show up, only to tell me that he didn't have the parts needed to fix my leaks, and the one he did fix started leaking again about an hour after he left.  grrrr  He told me his boss would contact me when he had figured out the cost to do the work that needed to be done.

Friday morning I met the girls early and we headed for the convention center for Em's solo dance.
She did a GREAT job, I am so proud of her.  She makes the dance look so easy and fun, yet professional.  She took a Platinum award for her dance ;-)  I have NO pictures to share because they weren't allowed by the Showbiz Competition company.  It was a beautiful day outside, and being that she was finished (until 5:30 for awards) we decided to go somewhere fun to eat outdoors.  We decided to go to Psycho Suzi's and that was a great choice!!

Then that evening I went to Steve's Birthday Party at McDuff's Golf Club and had another great time!

Saturday morning started off with an early (6:15) start.  Em had all 3 Small Group dances to do.
And I enjoyed every one of them!!  She is such a talented young lady and I love to watch her perform her dances.  I also love the teen small group she is in.  Since that was an early performance, she was free to be gone until her little's (groups she is an assistant teacher for) were to compete.  So, after the awards (all Platinum awards) we decided to once more go seek out some fun!!  This time we headed to

with Em & and her fellow dancer and friend N.  We had so much fun at this place!!  The food was fabulous, we played mini-golf, and rode The Danger!!

Sunday morning was also early - Em did her 5 Senior Group performances -
and then in the evening she and Luke did their Line and Production dances.  During their break, we joined Paul and Mike and went to the Hidden Haven for a great lunch (HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY)

Monday morning Isaac came at 8:15 to spend the day with me.  We had a great time playing and putting Lego's together.

I ended this week with a Birthday Bash for Luke, Emily, myself, Steve, and the true birthday for Paul and Landon.  Amy had us all to her house for presents and cake celebrating and then we headed to Osaka for a great and filling dinner.  It was a great time.

What could possibly be better?

OH - a Smores Frappacino for Mike and a Chai Tea latte for moi!!

Saturday, partly sunny and 43 degrees.   Spent the day doing some cleaning and sprucing up.
We decided to go the 'Good Thyme' for dinner.  We met some friends there and had them join us, which was fun to see them and catch up.  DH ordered the lake trout special and I ordered the meatloaf.  He had the butternut squash bisque (delicious) and I had the house salad which was also great.  It was a nice way to round out the day.   The best way to end the day would be to see some Northern Lights, bout I don't think that will happen tonight..

SUNSHINE

Friday, 4:45 p.m. Sunny 45 degrees - Bayfield WI.

We departed for "the Lake", "up North" a little after noon today.  We haven't been here since last
October so there is some Spring cleaning and restocking to do.  It was an uneventful drive up and we observed that the trees are just beginning to bud and the grass isn't green yet.  I'm hoping back home that my crab apple tree holds off blossoming until I get back.  And the sun was shining gloriously
back there also, so things should dry out a bit.

I brought some knitting with me and it felt good to have those needles going again!  I'm just finishing up with a dishcloth I had started a long time ago.  I hopefully will have it completed for Mother's Day.

I'm sipping on a cuppa gingerbread flavored coffee and looking down at the marina - a few boats are moored to their docks!   Pretty soon all things here will be abuzz ~

RAINY DAYS

Thursday, 10 a.m. cloudy, showers and 39 degrees.

A little peek outside my window - the crab apple tree is just waiting to burst forth into it's pink beauty, and the flower pots on the deck table are probably water soaked!!  I need to get out there and move them to a drier (and probably warmer) location.

I had a great day yesterday serving the school kiddos from the salad bar - and of course, spending time with dear daughter.  It was a cloudy, cool, and windy day yesterday - although, there was about 2 hours of sunshine in the morning.  I was a little tired as I was out with the Crochet Club girls until after midnight the night before.  We had such a great time catching up since we haven't been together since January at Kathie S. new home.  We were all together this time except for Kathie who is on a grand vacation with her hubby, sailing on their way to Portugal and then spending 6 weeks abroad.  We are all anxious to hear all about her trip when she gets home.

I spent a good deal of time this morning looking into other people's blogs.  It is so interesting that so many of us take to the computer to share our thoughts, pictures etc.  Some have made their blogs into money making ventures, some add music, and so much more than my little chatter.  Oh well, sometimes I look at this as a little journal to look back on, albeit, not such a daily journal LOL.

Well, I must carry on with the day.  So far, I've frothed about 5 cups of java, talked with sister dear #3, and passed the morning hours away.  So carry on................

CLOUDY

Tuesday, 12:30 p.m.  Cloudy and 45 degrees.  No rain YET, but it sure looks like we could get some.
It's funny, three weeks ago the back yard was abounding with turkeys, the males in full strut.

Now they seem to be completely gone, not a sign of them.  DH was at the farm he hunts at just North of here a ways, and he hasn't seen any either.  Today is the last day for the hunt, so I wish him luck - I think he will need it, LOL.  Come to think of it, no sign of this guy either, and we used to see him every morning!
This is a pheasant if you can't tell.....not the greatest photo

Despite the cold weather the leaves on the trees are bursting forth and the little crab apple tree behind the house is just ready to burst open with its beautiful pink flowers.

I am looking forward to seeing old friends tonight - our ladies group of 44 years are gathering at Sue's house tonight, it will be so fun to catch up.  We have gotten together every month for all these years - some ladies have come and gone, but there are eight of us that have stuck together for a very long time.

I'm going to froth some cream for my coffee now and see if I can warm up!  Have a great day everyone ~

BACK

Oh boy - as much as I love the idea of a blog......I am not very persistent.  I have such great intentions and then don't get back to it.  Well, today I will check in.

My weekend was filled with busyness (is this a word?).  I was invited to a fish fry to celebrate my birthday with my son and his family - it was great fun and yummy food.  DH went turkey hunting all day Saturday, so I was able to get some shopping done and catch up on cleaning on Saturday.  Sunday, we celebrated with Landon for his First Communion celebration.  It was such a special day and Fr. Jack from his church made it such a special day for the kids with his wise words to them.

We ended the day with daughter Amy at her river house while DH helped with some little projects they needed help with.
So I have had a whole week to get back into the routine of being home after a vacay with my sissies in Utah for a week.  What a great time we had - seeing the sites of Zion National Park, and Bryce Canyon.

It is a cloudy, rainy start to the week - only 57 degrees out, and after the 70 on Saturday, it feels really cold!!  I need to run an errand to the grocery and hate the thought of going out.  (baby!)  We do need the moisture so I should have no complaints.

The Entertainment news of last week was that Prince the music artist from MN passed away at the young age of 57, unexpectedly.  There have been many celebrations in his memory, and First Avenue (night club) in Mpls. had a night party downtown at their establishment every night since Thurs night.
There have been many stories recalling the kindness Prince showed to all people and what a musical genius he was.  Lot's of replaying of his hit songs.  It will be awhile before the results of his autopsy toxicology reports are in.  He had been on Percoset for pain after a hip surgery he had a few years ago and there is some speculation that he may have overdosed on that med.  Too sad.  His brother-in-law also reported that he had worked for 154 hours straight.  Will be interesting to hear the results.  But as one radio personality said - after someone has passed, is it necessary to go into all the details of how that person died?  Something to debate maybe.

Another point of interest in the news today - people boycotting Target because of their announcement -  "We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity."  I do not agree with this policy.  I think it opens the door for all sorts of problems.  I sometimes wonder why some things can't just stay the same as they are?  Of course, there are some issues that definitely need some change but some things I just can't go along with.  I am tired of the media presenting issues and making it sound like it pertains to the whole of population when it really affects maybe 2%.  The passing of such resolutions then affects us all.  Ok, I'm done - just sayin, and that is my personal opinion.

Well I'm off to run some errands and hopefully pick up a Starbucks chai tea latte on the way home.  It will just warm me up and make me feel good!!  Hopefully I can stay on track with the Blog!!
