Well to begin this post, I must say I have been absent from by blogging because I have been traveling,
attending dance competitions,

visiting the dentist :-(

.....and just catching up on where I left off!!  We had a vacation in San Diego, CA visiting with DH's parents for the week.  They have a condo right downtown, on the 22nd floor of a high rise, very near the harbor.  We had great views out of their many windows, of which we could see the comings and goings of the cruise ships, navy ships/boats, Coronado bridge/island, Pt Loma, and the Santa Fe Train Depot.  If you used the binoculars you could even see out onto the ocean.  There was an activity planned for everyday we were there, so we were busy, saw lot's of scenery and sites, and ATE well!!  LOL  The flowers were all blooming, so the flora was something else.  I spent my birthday while there; and the highlight of the day was being sung to, in Spanish, by a Portuguese singer, (called me Barbarita lol), accompanied by a Jewish piano player from Jerusalem and a trumpet player from New York City.  It was great fun.  Then in the evening we went to Anthonies (a restaurant sitting out over the harbor water) and had a wonderful seafood dinner.  Another highlight was going to San Juan Capistrano and touring the mission there--this was originally built by the missionaries back in the 1700's .  So much history, and again, beautiful flowers everywhere.
We ate at Scarpolleni's - great food AND the best MOJITO I have ever tasted.  I am going to try and see if I can get their recipe  mmmm mmmm good!  Thank you to the in-laws for showing us a fun time.

Then it was home and to the dentist bright and early the next morning.  I mentioned to the hygeinist that I had been experiencing a bad taste in my mouth since November, and that I thought the crown felt loose when I water pik my teeth.  She said well it does sound like your crown is loose, let's see....and off it popped.  The composite originally used to build up the tooth for the crown, crumbled.  That means an appt on Monday morning to grind on the tooth and rebuild it up for a new crown....$$$$.  JOY---no bad taste in the mouth anymore though YAY!!

I had a great weekend of watching dancers compete.  My sweet little grand performed with her groups in tap, lyrical, and jazz; performed with her small groups in jazz, tap and lyrical, and did her solo in lyrical.  They danced well and scored well.  I am always amazed at all the choeography...how do those teachers come up with new and entertaining dance routines all the time?

We celebrated Luke's birthday here on Sunday eve - a fish and 'turf ' meal.  It was fun to see everyone and catch up.  Luke had a great time, (I shared his birthday this year).  Steve and Angie are busy getting ready for a garage sale that begins tomorrow.  The moving date is coming quickly.

Boo on our weather!!  Highs dropped down to the 50's again and rain/wet snow in the forecast.
Guess we're paying now for all those lovely temperatures we enjoyed in Febr and March!

Easter Blessings

Vintage Easter Postcard

HAPPT EASTER TO ALL!!

We awoke to a beautiful sunrise this Easter morning.  It IS coolish out though, only in the 50's, a little cooler than we are used to this year!!  Nevertheless, it is a beautiful Spring morn.  We attended the 7:15 Mass this morning, to miss the crowds that will attend the later Masses.  It was fun to see a few Easter Bonnets and pastel colors in the pews this morning.  I always love the Alleluia's that rise to the heavens in song.  Also, saw a few familiar faces at this early hour LOL!!

Of course, some things never change-the parking lot was a disaster as we are trying to leave and people for the next Mass are coming in already.   This has been a pet peeve of DH for as many years as I can remember.  OH WELL....

All the littles and our grands are not with us this year, so it is just the hubs and I, AND Rosie the dog.
We are enjoying her inside company as well as Gus the dog, in the outdoor kennel keeping Cleo company.

I am going to prepare a new dish for our Easter feast later on today.  It will be a pork tenderloin with a sausage/mushroom stuffing (inside the meat) and a salad of asparagus and sugar snap peas with radishes.   I will report on the review of these new recipes later.

Have a wonderful Easter Blessed day.  I hope jelly beans and chocolate found their way to you today.

Ahhhh... a skinny vanilla latte rounded out the beautiful morning.

Patsy Cline -- I Fall To Pieces

I was IMing with my dear sister tonight and we were wondering how to download a youtube song onto the computer.  Well, I still don't know, but I did figure out how to get it here.  Now I am wondering how one would link it into your blog -- like Susan Branch, who links you to a song with just a word, and you can come back and read her blog while listening to the music.  SO MUCH TO LEARN!!

Here we are at the Triduum of Easter already.  I did have the littles over to dye eggs.....30 eggs to be exact!!!  Well, the boy littles lost interest rather quickly, so that left we 'girls' to do the rest LOL.
Didn't get many good pictures either.  Oh well, it is late and I have nothing pertinent to say,
except,
GOOD NIGHT all.
